An Iowa Super Group?

by musicboss on Sep.28, 2009, under Featured, Live Music, Nightlife

There are rumors from central Iowa of the hottest music explosion to ever hit the Midwest music scene. It started with some rumblings about Jerry Lorenson, the talented young front man for the eastern Iowa band Towncrier,  gigging with the Josh Davis Band, the rising star from Des Moines. Then tales of a new sound with a sharp edge and a polished, yet raw feel drifted across the social networks. Could it be, is there a super-group being spawned in the heartland?

With a focus on producing “real rock” the band has dropped the pretentions of radio-friendly music. The early tunes bring flashbcks of Led Zepplin rocking tunes from John Prine.

Steve Grams is a 1966 grad of Sioux City Central High School and a member of the afore-mentioned local bands.

Steve Grams, left, a 1966 Central High grad, will perform September 9.
